Fatos rápidos: Ao atravessar o hall, o enorme relógio e a luz filtrada pelas janelas fazem as telas impressionistas parecerem quase vivas. Surpreendentemente, reúne a maior coleção mundial de pinturas impressionistas e pós-impressionistas, com obras que contam as transformações sociais do século XIX.
Destaques: O edifício foi projetado por Victor Laloux para a Exposição Universal de 1900 e só foi transformado em museu em 1986, por isso os tetos altíssimos e a luz amarelada ainda evocam a sensação de uma antiga estação ferroviária. Atrás do enorme mostrador de vidro com algarismos romanos muitos visitantes tiram fotos em silhueta contra a cidade, e no mesmo salão você encontra Monet, Renoir e Van Gogh tão perto que dá para ver a textura da tinta.
