• The full loop trail is flat and easy but takes about 90 minutes at a steady pace with plenty of photo stops.
• Pack a swimsuit even in cooler weather, the water is bracingly cold but the swimming coves on the eastern shore are sublime.
• Head to the northern shore for the most dramatic reflections of the Zugspitze in the water, especially during golden hour.
