Fatos rápidos: Instalado em um impressionante palácio neogótico do século XIX, este museu protege mais de 180.000 artefatos de arte popular lituana. Sua coleção abrange esculturas em madeira e cerâmica, têxteis e móveis pintados que traçam a vida rural do século XVI ao início dos anos 1900.

Destaques: Três enormes retábulos de madeira intrincadamente esculpidos do século XVIII dominam o salão principal, cada um pesando mais de duas toneladas e pintado em azuis cobalto vibrantes e vermelhos vermelhão. Observe atentamente as menores cruzes populares em exposição: algumas medem apenas quinze centímetros de altura, mas carregam mais de 40 miniaturas esculpidas distintas.
