Fatos rápidos: Mais de 20 000 objetos marítimos contam a história da relação de Malta com o mar, desde os fenícios até à Segunda Guerra Mundial. A coleção é tão extensa que apenas uma fração está exposta de cada vez, e o restante é armazenado nos depósitos do museu.
Destaques: O museu está instalado na antiga padaria naval de Malta, um edifício da década de 1840 que outrora fornecia pão a toda a frota britânica do Mediterrâneo, 26 000 pães por dia. Os fornos originais ainda permanecem no edifício, e podem ver-se os enormes utensílios de cozinha usados para alimentar milhares de soldados.

- Go straight to the bakery exhibition in the basement first, it is easy to miss and contains the original ovens from 1840.
- Take the stairs all the way to the top for the view over Vittoriosa's harbor, a perfect photo subject in the afternoon light.

- Set aside extra time for the model exhibition of old warships, it has over 50 detailed models with explanatory signs.
