Fatos rápidos: Três villas romanas distintas do século IV se superpõem neste sítio perto de Faro, uma construida diretamente sobre outra. O mosaico preservado de peixes de tema oceánico se estende por mais de 40 metros quadrados e ainda mostra traços de suas cores vivas originais.
Destaques: Ao contrário da maioria das ruinas romanas, que só mostran fundações, partes das paredes da villa de Milreu ainda se erguem a dois andares de altura, criando salas reais pelas quais se caminha em lugar de imaginar. O destaque é o santuario de água em forma de templo, onde ainda se veem os canales que uma vez transportaram água para banhos rituais.

- Bring a small flashlight to see details in the darker corners of the bath complex where shadows hide mosaic work.
- Walk around to the back of the site for an elevated view that shows the full villa layout from above.
- Visit right at opening time on weekdays to have the entire site nearly to yourself.
- The small on-site exhibit has English explanations that fill in context the ruin signs skip.
