Fatos rápidos: O palácio foi construído em mármore italiano e pedra local entre 1920 e 1926 para o sultão Mohamoud Ali Shirwa. Depois de ter ardido em 2020, resta apenas a imponente fachada de pedra, que continua a ser um local popular para os encontros noturnos dos habitantes locais.
Destaques: Pouca gente sabe que, no subsolo do palácio, existe um labirinto de túneis bem preservado por onde o sultão escapava durante os ataques inimigos. Ainda hoje, as paredes destes túneis estão cobertas de ornamentos originais, e os visitantes podem experimentar na pele como era a rota de fuga de um soberano há séculos atrás.
