Fatos rápidos: Esculpido por enchentes repentinas ao longo de milênios, este desfiladeiro estreito no interior de Fuerteventura atinge profundidades de mais de 100 metros em alguns lugares. As paredes do cânion revelam camadas vulcânicas em tons impressionantes de vermelho, ocre e preto, criando seções transversais naturais da ardente história geológica da ilha.
Destaques: A maioria dos visitantes fica na costa e nunca vê este desfiladeiro de fenda de 800 metros, onde as paredes se aproximam até você conseguir tocar os dois lados ao mesmo tempo. Após as chuvas de inverno, um riacho raso aparece e o cânion se transforma em um micro-oásis exuberante com samambaias e palmeiras selvagens agarradas aos penhascos úmidos.

- Wear sturdy water shoes or hiking sandals, as you will be walking on uneven rock and possibly through shallow water.
- Park at the dirt lot near the main road and follow the dry riverbed upstream, there are no official signs marking the entrance.
- Visit after a rainy spell to see the canyon at its most dramatic with flowing water and revived plant life.
- Arrive early in the morning to have the entire canyon to yourself, as tour groups tend to show up around mid-morning.
