Fatos rápidos: Rising 3,718 meters above sea level, Spain's tallest peak also ranks as the world's third-highest volcanic structure. Its Mars-like terrain has starred in blockbuster films, the last eruption shook the island in 1909, and the park now draws around 4 million visitors yearly.
