Fatos rápidos: Cerca de 80 elefantes órfãos e feridos vivem e vagam livremente pela propriedade de 25 acres à beira do rio. Todas as manhãs por volta das 10h, a manada marcha pelas ruas até o rio próximo para seu banho diário de duas horas, uma procissão que atrai milhares de visitantes.
Destaques: Ao contrário de zoológicos onde os animais são separados dos humanos por cercas, os mahouts (cuidadores) vivem ao lado de elefantes específicos 24 horas por dia, formando laços que duram décadas. Um mahout idoso chamado Somapala cuidou da mesma elefanta cega chamada Tikiri por 35 anos, e ela reconhece seus passos e sua voz instantaneamente.
