Fatos rápidos: Os pinheiros Torrey são os pinheiros mais raros da América do Norte, crescendo naturalmente apenas aqui e na Ilha de Santa Rosa. A reserva protege 2.000 acres de natureza costeira onde falésias de arenito de 60 metros caem diretamente no Oceano Pacífico.
Destaques: Os pinheiros que dão nome à reserva, os pinheiros Torrey, sobrevivem com apenas 25 centímetros de chuva por ano ao enviar raízes a 30 metros de profundidade através do arenito para encontrar água subterrânea. Uma árvore perto da trilha Razor Point tem mais de 150 anos de idade, retorcida em uma forma de bonsai pelos ventos implacáveis do oceano.
