Rýchle fakty: V tejto svätyni v centre mesta Ratnapura sa uctieva božstvo menom Suman, o ktorom sa v budhizme verí, že sa ako prvý dotkol nôh Budhu. Každoročne sem prichádzajú tisíce veriacich, aby sa zúčastnili na slávnostiach Ratha Yatra a Perahera, čo je najväčšia náboženská udalosť v regióne.
Zaujímavosti: Toto je miesto, kde sa schádzajú na spoločnú modlitbu ľudia z komunít Sinhálcov, Tamilov a moslimov. Symboly všetkých troch náboženstiev sú tu vidieť pod jednou strechou. Zaujímavé je, že aj hlavný kňaz tu často dodržiava tradície všetkých troch komunít, čo je príkladom harmónie.
