Brze činjenice: Founded by Greek colonists in 734 BC, this was actually the very first Greek settlement on the entire island of Sicily. The city was completely destroyed by Dionysius I of Syracuse in 403 BC and never rebuilt, leaving the ruins frozen in time exactly as they were abandoned.

The real magic happens in spring when wildflowers bloom among the stone ruins, with Mount Etna looming dramatically in the background and the Ionian Sea crashing just steps away.
