The city feels untouched by mass tourism which I loved. Not much nightlife but great for slow wandering.
Get cash before you come. A lot of smaller shops and restaurants don't take card and the ATMs run out sometimes.
Food was hit or miss. Had an amazing lamb dish at a family place near the market but also some bland stuff.
Honestly Elbasan surprised me. The castle area at night is lovely and the vibe was chill. Spend 2 days max though.
Skip the tourist cafes on the main road. Walk into the backstreets near the old bazaar for cheaper food and real raki.
