- Non-Hindus cannot enter the inner sanctum, but the outer compound and surrounding 150+ smaller shrines are accessible to everyone and equally impressive.
- The best photo opportunities are from the stepped tank to the southeast, where the reflection of the main spire appears in the water.
- Visit on a Monday when crowds are thinner, and avoid full moon days when local devotees pack the temple grounds.
- Leave your shoes at the main gate shoe stand (5 rupees to store) and bring socks if you want to protect your feet on the hot stone pathways.
