Saw rugged cliff views while island hopping but the boats weren’t in the best shape, so safety can be a concern sometimes.
Balabac feels off the beaten path, which is cool if you want peace. Just don’t expect fancy tourist amenities or nightlife.
Overall, a budget-friendly destination but prepare for simple accommodations and sometimes unpredictable transport schedules.
If you’re into snorkeling, the coral reefs are stunning. Sadly, some areas had patches of coral damage, hoped it’d be better preserved.
Locals were super friendly and welcoming even though English isn’t widely spoken. Made the trip feel authentic and warm.
