حقائق سريعة: هنا في 17 أبريل عام 1971 تم أداء قسم أول حكومة مؤقتة في بنغلاديش، وكان الموقع سراً تاماً حتى يوم الحفل. بمساحة 23 هكتاراً، يحتفظ المجمع بذكرى حرب الاستقلال التي استمرت تسعة أشهر والتي غيرت جنوب آسيا.
النقاط البارزة: يوجد تحت الأرض نظام أنفاق يبلغ طوله 300 متر كان القادة يهربون عبره إلى الهند بينما كانت القاذفات تطلق القنابل فوقهم. لا تزال السلالم المؤدية إلى المخبأ تحت الأرض زلقة من الرطوبة، ويلامسها الزوار بأيديهم يشعرون ببرودة الخرسانة التي كانت تخفي السر.

- Bring a bottle of water because there is no shade in the open area and the temperature in summer exceeds 35°C.
- Be sure to visit the underground bunker on the south side; it is the coolest and most mysterious there.
- Photograph the monument from the east side in the morning when the sun illuminates the seven pillars at a 45-degree angle.
- Avoid weekends in March because thousands of schoolchildren come on field trips and it gets very crowded.
