حقائق سريعة: يقع هذا المتحف داخل أطلال قلعة عائلة دوق الهرسك في القرون الوسطى، وما زالت أسوارها وأبراجها التي تعود إلى القرن الرابع عشر قائمة حتى اليوم. تضم مقتنيات المتحف أكثر من 3000 قطعة أثرية، من فخاريات العصر الإيليري إلى أسلحة وأزياء تقليدية من العصر العثماني، تمتد عبر آلاف السنين من التاريخ.
النقاط البارزة: تحت فناء المتحف توجد أطلال فيلا رومانية أرضية كاملة، والمفاجئ أن الفسيفساء على أرضيتها ما زالت محفوظة بشكل مذهل، إذ تظهر الزخارف الهندسية التي تعود إلى 2000 عام بوضوح وألوانها زاهية. ومن أعلى برج القلعة، يتعرج نهر تريبيسات في وادٍ كلسي، ويمكن للعين أن ترى في مشهد واحد أبراج أجراس أربع كنائس من القرون الوسطى.
نصائح من الداخل
- Climb the castle tower at 3-4 PM, when the golden light is best for panoramic canyon photos.
- The mosaic floors of the Roman villa underground are actually clearer on overcast days, as there is less glare from the glass windows.
- Wear comfortable flat shoes. The cobblestone slope leading up to the castle is steep and slippery.
- The old town alleys behind the museum have a few family-run restaurants that are half the price of those on the main street.
