- Arrive at opening and do the Mediterranean Garden first, before tour groups filter in.
- The rose beds in Hendrie Park smell strongest around 10am, before the midday sun bakes the petals.
- Skip peak lilac weekend and come the following Tuesday, the bloom holds for a full two weeks.
