If you want cheap eats, avoid the main tourist areas downtown. Check out Commercial Drive for real tasty local food and better prices.
Pretty vibes but pricey everywhere. Weather can be gloomy, pack layers. Stayed a week, could have done less to save cash.
Winter visit was cold and wet but we found cozy spots and loved the coffee culture. Not the beach trip we hoped though.
Get a Compass Card for transit. It saves time and money, especially if you're hopping between neighborhoods.
