حقائق سريعة: نصف الحديقة يغرق في غابة فالديفيا الرطبة، والنصف الآخر ينفتح على كثبان رملية صقلتها الرياح قرب المحيط. بعض أشجار الأليرثي تعيش هنا منذ أكثر من 3600 عام، لذلك فهي أقدم من معظم المدن الأوروبية.
النقاط البارزة: كثبان كوكاو التي كوّمتها الرياح وسط غابة ممطرة تبدو كنزوة من نوازع الطبيعة: على جانب واحد جذور تحتضنها الطحالب، وعلى الجانب الآخر دائرة رمل لا تنتهي. في الأدغال يتربص البودو، أصغر غزال في العالم، الذي يزن الفرد البالغ منه أقل من عشرة كيلوغرامات.

- Wear waterproof footwear, as the trails remain muddy and slippery even in the dry season.
- Photograph the Cucao dunes at dawn, when the morning light highlights the shadows of the sand waves.
- Plan the most important routes before noon, as that is when the trails have the fewest people.
- Binoculars will come in handy, as endemic bird species hide in the treetops.
