حقائق سريعة: حوالي 15 منشأة حجرية منتشرة على ارتفاع صخري، قلعة دفاعية أقامها شعب الأتاكامينيو خلال العصور الوسطى. معركة دامية عام 1540 أجبرت المدافعين على مغادرة الارتفاع، وما تزال بقايا الجدار قائمة حتى اليوم.
النقاط البارزة: فتحة ضيقة واحدة في الجدار كانت تعمل كبوابة، دفاع فعال لدرجة أن القليلين استطاعوا إبقاء جيش كامل خارجًا. فوق القمة، على ارتفاع يزيد عن 100 متر فوق النهر، ترى الوادي بأكمله وبركان ليكانكابور بارتفاع 5,916 مترًا في نظرة واحدة.

- Bring at least one liter of water and sturdy shoes, the last stretch is steep and rocky.
- Come for sunset for golden light over the valley, but allow time to get back down before darkness falls.
- Take the opportunity to photograph the volcano from the upper terraces, where you get the whole mountain range in the frame.
- Skip the guided tours if you are an experienced hiker, the trail is easy to find on your own.
