حقائق سريعة: تحمي أكثر من 15000 هكتار من الغابة والجبال والساحل الكاريبي. تحدّ مياهها الفيروزية 30 كيلومتراً من الشواطئ، بما فيها كابو سان خوان الشهيرة حيث تتعايش السلاحف البحرية وقرود العواء.
النقاط البارزة: المدينة المفقودة لا سيوداد بيرديدا، المدينة التي تعود إلى عصر ما قبل كولومبوس والمطمورة في الغابة، لا يمكن الوصول إليها إلا بعد رحلة سير تستغرق عدة أيام عبر الغابة الاستوائية. تقدم الآثار الحجرية لهذه المدينة القديمة من شعب تايرونا، المدرجة ضمن التراث العالمي، لمحة رائعة عن حضارة كان يبلغ عدد سكانها ما يصل إلى 4000 نسمة قبل 600 عام.

- Arrive early in the morning before 8 a.m. to avoid the crowds and see the monkeys come down from the trees near the beaches.
- Wear hiking shoes and a swimsuit: the trail to Cabo San Juan alternates between jungle and rocks with steep sections.
- Prefer La Piscina beach if you want to swim safely, the waves at Cabo San Juan can be treacherous for average swimmers.
- Bring a hammock or a tent if you sleep on site, renting on the spot is expensive and comfort is basic.
