حقائق سريعة: كتل حجر جيري ضخمة تزن نحو 100 طن تشكل القلب، بينما ما تزال ألواح الجرانيت الأحمر الباقية تحمل الصقل الشبيه بالمرآة القديم من زمن توهج الواجهة. صفوف من الأعمدة الجرانيتية النحيلة دعمت ذات يوم سقفاً اختفى، تاركاً القاعة مفتوحة على السماء.
النقاط البارزة: عثر العمال أثناء الحفر عام 1860 على 23 تمثالاً من الديوريت للفرعون مدفونة في حفرة تحت الأرضية، وُضعت على ما يبدو جانباً من قبل الكهنة خلال إعادة تنظيم دينية. خرج واحد فقط سليماً، وهو التمثال الجالس الذي يعد اليوم نجم متحف القاهرة المصري، بينما بقي الباقي محطماً في شظايا.
