حقائق سريعة: هذا المسار المتعرج عبر غابة هايليغنبرغ سُمي على اسم الشاعر الألماني فريدريش هولدرلين، الذي تجول في هذه المسارات نفسها أثناء إقامته في هايدلبرغ. يمتد الطريق حوالي كيلومترين ويضم 12 محطة تحتوي على قصائد واقتباسات منحوتة على أعمدة حجرية.
النقاط البارزة: عند أعلى نقطة على طول المسار، ستجد تينغستاته، وهو مدرج ضخم في الهواء الطلق بُني في ثلاثينيات القرن العشرين ويستضيف الآن الحفلات الموسيقية والفعاليات تحت مظلة الأشجار. قلة من الزوار يدركون أن علاقة هولدرلين الفعلية بهايدلبرغ كانت قصيرة، ومع ذلك يخلّد هذا المسار حبه العميق لمناظر المدينة في قصيدته "هايدلبرغ".

- Start at the Philosophenweg (Philosopher's Walk) and follow the signs upward, the trail ends near the Thingstätte where you can rest and enjoy the view.
- Bring a copy of Hölderlin's poem 'Heidelberg' to read at the stations, it adds a whole new layer of meaning to the experience.
- Visit on a weekday morning if you want the trail almost entirely to yourself, weekends draw locals and hikers.
- The stone pillars make excellent photo subjects, especially in the soft light of late afternoon when the carvings cast long shadows.
