حقائق سريعة: يقع المتحف في مبنى من خمسة طوابق في جزيرة فلوريس على بحيرة بيتين إيتزا، على بعد خطوات قليلة من الساحة الرئيسية. تغطي معروضاته أكثر من 3000 عام من تاريخ حضارة المايا في منطقة بيتين.

- Combine your visit with a walk around the island of Flores, the museum is within walking distance of all the main points.
- Set aside 30 minutes for the final terrace, from where you have a view of Lake Petén Itzá and the surrounding hills.
- Come before lunch so you have enough time to also explore the rest of the island.
