حقائق سريعة: مياه زجاجية نقية تغوص إلى أكثر من 100 متر في خلجان محمية، مما يتيح لغطاسي السنوركل مشاهدة نادرة للجروف المغمورة لبحيرة صدع عميقة. يسمع الزوار صمتا لا يقطعه إلا الفقاعات والرياح بينما تكشف الشقوق المرئية عن تباعد الصفائح التكتونية، لذا فالغوص هنا يشبه الطفو بين القارات.
النقاط البارزة: مياه فيروزية زاهية تتدفق عبر شق زجاجي نقي يسمى سيلفرا، حيث يطفو غطاسو السنوركل بين الصفيحة الأمريكية الشمالية والأوراسية مع رؤية تصل غالبا إلى 100 متر ودرجات حرارة مياه حوالي 2-4 درجة مئوية. البحيرة بجانب سهل المجلس القديم هي أكبر بحيرة طبيعية في البلاد بمساحة حوالي 84 كيلومترا مربعا وعمق أقصى يقارب 114 مترا، وقد اجتمع زعماء الفايكنغ على مقاعدها الصخرية لألثينغ منذ عام 930 ميلادي، تاريخ يمكنك تقريبا تذوقه في الهواء البارد عندما تقف هناك.
