- Bring sturdy sandals or water shoes because the shoreline gets muddy and slippery near the water's edge.
- Walk to the far left side of the dam for the best photo spot with the hills and water in perfect frame, away from the crowd.
- Arrive by 8 AM on weekends to claim a shaded spot under the trees before the peak crowd arrives around 11 AM.
- Skip the motorboat rides and instead hike the short trail behind the dam for panoramic views from the top.
