حقائق سريعة: يمكن لأكثر من 80 ألف شخص أن يصلوا هنا في وقت واحد عبر فناءها الواسع وقاعاتها ذات الأعمدة. بدأ بناؤها في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر تحت حكم حاكمة، نواب شاه جهان بيغوم، واستمر على مراحل على مدى عقود.

النقاط البارزة: عند المشي عبر المدخل الرئيسي، تستقبلك واجهة وردية تتغير نغمتها مع ضوء الشمس، متوهجة بلون المرجان تقريباً عند غروب الشمس. المئذنتان الشاهقتان، بارتفاع 66 متراً لكل منهما، تؤطران بركة ضخمة حيث ينعكس المسجد بأكمله كالمرآة في الأيام الهادئة.

نصائح من الداخل

Bring a wide-angle lens or phone with a panorama mode to capture the scale of the courtyard and the full reflection in the pool.
Visit on a Friday around noon to hear the call to prayer echo through the halls, but arrive early as it gets crowded.
Cover your head and remove shoes before entering the prayer hall, scarves are available at the entrance if you forget.
The upstairs galleries offer a quieter viewpoint overlooking the main courtyard and are often overlooked by visitors.
