حقائق سريعة: كل صباح، يتجول العشرات من الطواويس في أرجاء ساحة المعبد، وتتردد صداها على البرج الذي يبلغ ارتفاعه 37 مترا والمغطى بأكثر من 1200 تمثال منحوت للإله. الإله شيفا المتعبد به هنا يُعبد كطاووس، وهو شكل نادر لا يوجد إلا في هذا المعبد في جميع أنحاء الهند.

- Remove shoes before entering and store them at the free shoe stand near the main entrance, not with street vendors.
- Stand under the 500-year-old banyan tree in the northeast corner for the best angle of the gopuram without people in the frame.
- Skip visiting between 12-4 PM when the temple closes for the afternoon siesta, a tradition maintained for centuries.
