حقائق سريعة: مكرس للإله شيفا، يقع هذا المعبد على ضفاف بحيرات كافاي الخلفية في شمال كيرالا. الإله الرئيسي هو لينغام شيفا الذي تجلى بنفسه (سوامبهو)، والذي يعتقد السكان المحليون أنه اكتشفه مزارع وهو يحرث حقله قبل قرون.
النقاط البارزة: على عكس معظم معابد كيرالا ذات الأبراج الشاهقة، القدس هنا عبارة عن هيكل صغير منخفض السقف حيث عليك الانحناء للدخول، مما يخلق لقاء حميماً مع الإله. خلال مهرجان كالاشام السنوي، تُضاء أحواض المعبد بأكثر من 10,000 مصباح زيتي في وقت واحد، وتنعكس انعكاساتها على المياه السوداء بينما يردد الكهنة التراتيل الفيدية القديمة.

- The best photographs come from the backwater-facing side of the temple during golden hour, not from the main entrance.
- Arrive before 8 AM to avoid the crowds that start gathering after the morning rush of pujas.
