حقائق سريعة: ثلاث شواطئ رملية على شكل أهلة تربط بين عدة كيلومترات من الساحل الذهبي، تكلّلها أشجار جوز الهند وقرى الصيد الصغيرة. هنا تبلغ أمواج المحيط الهندي العاتية ذروة قوتها، ويوفر البرج الذي يبلغ ارتفاعه 35 متراً ودرجه السبعون إطلالة واسعة على الخليج بأكمله.
النقاط البارزة: ما يزال الصيادون المحليون يُطلقون زوارقهم الخشبية المزدوجة عند الفجر ويبيعون صيد اليوم مباشرة على الشاطئ، وغالباً ما يُطهى أمام عينيك على جمر متوهج. عند الغروب، يجتمع المسافرون وأهل كيرالا معاً لمشاهدة القوارب وهي تنزلق إلى الشاطئ بينما تضاء أكشاك السوق على طول الرمال.
نصائح من الداخل
- Bring waterproof shoes, the northern parts have slippery stones below the surface.
- Climb to the top of the lighthouse half an hour before closing for fewer visitors and the best light.
- Swim only inside the marked zones, strong currents can appear without warning.
- Wait with shopping until the evening market on the southern side, where prices are usually lower than in the daytime stalls.
