حقائق سريعة: أثناء التجول تحت مظلة كثيفة من أشجار البانيان والتين، ستسمع ثرثرة مستمرة وغالبا ما ترى قرود المكاك طويلة الذيل تتأرجح عبر التماثيل الحجرية المغطاة بالطحالب. يعيش أكثر من 700 قرد بين أطلال المعبد، لذا احتفظ بالكاميرات والوجبات الخفيفة بعيدا: القرود المكاك جريئة جدا وذكية بشكل غير عادي عندما يتعلق الأمر بالتقاط الأشياء السائبة.
النقاط البارزة: نحو 600 قرد من قرود المكاك طويلة الذيل تتجول في مجمع مظلل من السلالم الحجرية المغطاة بالطحالب وجذور البانيان الشاهقة، وتصدر أصواتا وكأنها قسم إيقاعي حي بينما تخطف النظارات الشمسية والكاميرات وأحيانا المانجو الناضج من الزوار غير المنتبهين. في قلب البستان توجد ثلاثة معابد عمرها قرون تحتفظ بسلال من البخور والفاكهة كقرابين يومية، وأحيانا يمشي كاهن محلي عبر المجموعة مباشرة، مبتسما بعصبية بينما يفحصه ذكر الألفا وهو يرتدي سارونجه البرتقالي.

- Wear closed shoes, long pants and minimal jewelry because monkeys love to grab loose items.
- Keep all food and bags zipped, tuck cameras away during close encounters to reduce snatching risk.
- Head for the central temple courtyard and the mossy stone bridges for the best photos early in the morning.
- Walk slowly, avoid direct eye contact with adult males and do not attempt to feed or chase the macaques.
