حقائق سريعة: تحت قبة يبلغ ارتفاعها 32 متراً، يتغير ضوء النهار على مدار اليوم مكوناً وهماً لذيل طاووس على الجدران الداخلية. لم يكن للمسجد مئذنة قط لأنه بني حصراً لاستخدام العائلة المالكة، وليس للصلوات العامة.
النقاط البارزة: في مركز القبة، على ارتفاع 32 متراً، توجد فتحة صغيرة على شكل طاووس يدخل منها شعاع الشمس في وقت معين من اليوم. يسافر هذا الشعاع الضوئي على جدران المسجد وكأنه يريد أن يلمس كل زخرفة، ويوجهه الاعتدال الربيعي بالضبط نحو محراب الصلاة.
نصائح من الداخل
- Avoid the midday hours in summer when the heat is unbearable and the light effects are weakest.
- Be sure to bring a scarf to cover your head and take off your shoes before entering as a sign of respect.
- The best photo is taken from the center of the hall, where the reflection of the dome is seen on the floor like a mirror.
- Do not miss the small passage on the side that leads to the original tiles from the 17th century.
