حقائق سريعة: مرتفعة على نتوء صخري يطل على الميناء، حرست هذه القلعة ميناء مسقط منذ القرن السادس عشر على الأقل. توأمها قلعة الجلالي تقع مباشرة عبر الخليج، وقد قامتا معاً بإغلاق مدخل الميناء بالسلاسل للسيطرة على الوصول.
النقاط البارزة: انظر عن كثب إلى قاعدة أسوار القلعة وستلاحظ القذائف البرتغالية الأصلية لا تزال مغروسة في الحجر من حصارات عمرها قرون. يحتفظ داخل القلعة بصهريج مياه برتغالي عامل لا يزال يجمع مياه الأمطار، تماماً كما كان حين بناه المهندسون المستعمرون في ثمانينيات القرن السادس عشر.
