حقائق سريعة: يزدحم في هذه الأزقة نحو 100 من البيوت التجارية والمعابد المحفوظة، يتوّج كثيرًا منها واجهات بألوان الباستيل ونوافذ خشبية مقوّسة. ويعود تاريخ أقدم معبد هندوسي في الحي إلى عام 1855، ولا تزال متاجر التوابل ذات الروائح النفاذة تغذي مطابخ جنوب الهند منذ أجيال.
النقاط البارزة: عند الفجر، ينسج باعة الزهور في السوق المغطى مئات من أكاليل الياسمين والقطيفة قبل استراحة القهوة، وبسرعة لا تستطيع العين متابعة الخيوط. وما تزال فيلا وردية بلون الحلوى شُيّدت عام 1900 لقطب من أقطاب المطاط تتربع على الزقاق الرئيسي، فيما أصبحت أرضياتها الصرّارة اليوم تبيع حلويات تُسحب باليد للأطفال.
