حقائق سريعة: تقع هذه القلعة القروسطية على تلة من الترافرتين على ارتفاع 200 متر فوق الريف المحيط بها، وتُصنف من بين أكبر مجمعات القلاع في أوروبا من حيث المساحة. جعلها حجمها الهائل وموقعها الاستراتيجي ذات يوم المركز الإداري والعسكري والثقافي للمنطقة، حيث تغطي ما يقارب أربعة أفدنة ونصف.
النقاط البارزة: انظر عن كثب إلى الجدران الخارجية وستلاحظ نوافذ قوطية أصلية ومنحوتات رومانسكية تركت دون مساس لقرون، وليست نسخًا معاد بناؤها. إن التدهور التدريجي للقلعة على مدى 300 عام حافظ فعليًا على البناء الحجري القروسطي الأصيل الذي تفتقر إليه القلاع الأكثر "ترميمًا".

- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes: the terrain inside the castle is uneven, with steep stone staircases and loose gravel paths.
- Bring a windbreaker even on sunny days, the hilltop catches strong gusts that can whip through the ruins unexpectedly.
- Skip the audio guide and instead pick up the paper map at the entrance, it lets you explore at your own pace without queuing.
- For the best photo, position yourself on the wooden bridge just past the main gate around late afternoon when the sun lights up the upper palace.
