Berbera Fish Market
أفضل وقت للزيارة
Come at 6:00-7:00 AM, when the boats are just returning and the liveliest auction begins. By 10:00 AM most of the fish has already been sold, and the market calms down.
نصائح للميزانية
Free entry. You can buy freshly grilled fish for 2-5 dollars. Locals haggle, so feel free to negotiate the price down by half.

حول
حقائق سريعة: Every morning here they unload up to 50 tons of fresh fish brought by local fishermen on traditional boats. The trading begins before dawn and follows an auction principle: whoever shouts loudest gets the best catch.
النقاط البارزة: Here you can try shark meat for the first time in your life, grilled right on the coals next to the dock. Local cooks prepare it with hot pepper and lime. Fishermen let you climb into their boats and take photos with three-meter hammerhead sharks while they are still lying on the concrete floor.
نصائح من الداخل
- Wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty: the concrete floor is wet and slippery from scales and water.
- The best photos are taken from the pier, where you can see boats unloading sharks right onto the concrete.
- Try "sambusa" (fish pie) from the grandmothers at the entrance; they fry them right in front of you.
- Do not photograph the vendors without asking: smile, ask for permission, and they won't refuse you.
