حقائق سريعة: تُعد بحيرة بربرة محطة توقف رئيسية للطيور المهاجرة التي تسلك مسار الهجرة في شرق أفريقيا، حيث ترتاح هنا سنوياً عشرات الآلاف من الطيور. ملوحة مياه البحيرة أعلى بنحو الضعف من ملوحة المحيط المفتوح، ما يخلق نظاماً بيئياً فريداً يضم كائنات دقيقة وردية محبة للملوحة.
النقاط البارزة: في الهدوء التام الخالي من الرياح، يتحول سطح البحيرة إلى مرآة مثالية تعكس السماء بوضوح شديد لدرجة أن الحد الفاصل بين الماء والهواء يختفي. عند الغروب يكتسب الماء لوناً وردياً بنفسجياً شديداً بسبب بكتيريا محبة للملوحة متناهية الصغر تؤكسد الملح في المياه الضحلة.
نصائح من الداخل
- Wear flip-flops or water shoes. The bottom is covered in sharp shells, and you won't get far barefoot.
- The best photos are taken from the southern shore of the lagoon, where the sky reflection is most complete due to less ripple.
- Come on a weekday. On weekends, local families come here, and the birds stay farther from the shore.
- Bring a polarizing filter for your camera. It removes glare from the salt water and makes the pink hue more vivid.
