حقائق سريعة: في هذا المعبد الواقع في وسط مدينة راتنابورا، يعبد إله يدعى سومن، الذي يعتبر في البوذية أول من لمس أقدام بوذا. يأتي آلاف المصلين سنويا للمشاركة في مهرجان الرث ياترا ومهرجان بيراهيرا، وهو أكبر احتفال ديني في المنطقة.
النقاط البارزة: هذا هو المكان الذي يأتي إليه أفراد جميع الطوائف السنهالية والتاميلية والمسلمة للصلاة معا، حيث يمكن رؤية رموز الديانات الثلاث تحت سقف واحد. المثير للاهتمام أن كبير الكهنة هنا غالبا ما يمارس تقاليد الطوائف الثلاث معا، وهو مثال على الانسجام.

- Coming during prayer time (6:30-7:30 AM), the sight of the aarti performed by the priest is very special
- Photography is limited inside the temple complex, do not forget to seek permission from the priest first
- Come wearing white or light colored traditional clothes, entry is not allowed in shorts and t-shirts
- There is a small garden behind the main temple which is perfect for meditating away from the city noise
