حقائق سريعة: أكثر من 200 محل شاي وأكشاك طعام تملأ هذا الممر الجبلي الضيق، حيث تقدم كل شيء من كرات التارو إلى التوفو المنتن الذي يباع على جانب الشارع. يستقطب هذا الشارع أكثر من 6 ملايين زائر سنويا، مما يجعله أحد أكثر الأماكن زيارة في شمال تايوان.
النقاط البارزة: تقول الأسطورة إن الفوانيس الحمراء الشهيرة في الشارع القديم مستوحاة من فيلم ياباني صدر عام 1989 وليس من التقاليد المحلية، ولم توضع الفوانيس إلا بعد أن طلب طاقم الفيلم من أصحاب المتاجر تزيين المكان لإضفاء الأجواء. اليوم، تتوهج الفوانيس الحمراء المتتالية من الساعة الرابعة مساء فصاعدا، محولة السلالم الحجرية إلى شيء يبدو وكأنه خارج مباشرة من حلم استوديو غيبلي.

- Wear grippy shoes: the stone steps get slick from rain and spillages, especially near the A-Mei Tea House stairs.
- Try the peanut ice cream roll from the cart near the top of the stairs, not the stalls in the main crush.
