Safety felt solid, I explored most parts on foot even after dark. People were friendly but low-key, no loud tourists around.
Stayed three nights, felt just right. Plenty of quiet parks and old architecture to wander. Not crowded at all, very peaceful.
Weather was surprisingly chilly for summer, but the small town charm made up for it. Could see everything in two days without rushing.
Skip the main strip restaurants at lunchtime, walk a block east for cheaper, better sandwiches and no waiting lines.
If you loan a bike downtown, plan routes in advance. Signage isn’t great, and some paths end abruptly, made a wrong turn that cost time.
