حقائق سريعة: أكثر من 250 ألف قطعة موجودة في المجموعات، من أدوات العصر الحجري إلى المنسوجات الفخمة من القرن التاسع عشر. من أكثر القطع إثارة للاهتمام في المتحف مرجل برونزي عمره 2000 عام من المملكة اليونانية الباخترية.
النقاط البارزة: قاعة كاملة مخصصة للرسوم الجدارية من قصر أفراسياب، حيث يظهر مشرح ملون بطول 7 أمتار موكباً للخيول والجمال وكبار الشخصيات الأجنبية من القرن السابع. اكتُشفت الرسوم لأول مرة في عام 1965 وتُعتبر من أهم الاكتشافات الأثرية في آسيا الوسطى.

- Ask the staff to turn on the light in the display case with the gold jewelry from the Amu Darya treasure, otherwise the details are not visible.
- The third floor with the ethnographic department is often forgotten but has the most beautiful textiles and embroideries.
- Combine the visit with a walk up to the observation platform for a panoramic view of the city.
- Bring your own headphones for the audio guide, the borrowed ones are of varying quality.
