Excavation crews uncovered this site by accident during a 1990s parking-garage project, and today an elevated steel walkway lets you hover right over the mosaics and tombs.
Destacados: Part of the terracotta and lead piping that fed a Roman bathhouse still hangs along the ancient street, cut cleanly where later builders sliced straight through it. Those heating ducts and mosaic floors survived because the whole district sat buried and forgotten for nearly 1,700 years after the city faded.
