Mejor época para visitar

Visit in the morning between 8-10 AM when sunlight hits the canyon walls and reveals the river's milky turquoise color best. The dry season (October to April) offers the clearest views of the gorge.

Consejos para el presupuesto

The main viewpoint on the footbridge is completely free to access. Skip the small nearby museum and save that 200 NPR entry fee for a rooftop lunch with canyon views instead.

Acerca de

Datos rápidos: Carved by the Seti River over millions of years, the gorge plunges over 60 meters deep in places while being only a few meters wide at the top. The river appears milky white from glacial silt, creating an almost unreal contrast against the dark canyon walls.

Destacados: Stand on the footbridge and look straight down: the canyon is so narrow you can almost touch both sides, yet the river rages 20 stories below. The water's jade-white color comes from finely ground rock powder crushed by glaciers high in the Annapurna range.

Consejos de expertos

  • Walk across the footbridge at least twice to spot the river from different angles between the railing gaps.
  • Bring polarized sunglasses to cut through the water's glare and see the unnatural jade color more vividly.
  • Visit right after monsoon season (September-October) to see the river at its most powerful and dramatic flow.
  • The best photo spot is from the eastern side of the footbridge where the canyon's S-curve is visible.
