Datos rápidos: Caminando entre pirámides de adobe calentadas por el sol, puedes sentir un silencio ritual mientras el viento azota los patios y la luz del desierto convierte las paredes en un cálido ocre. Los guías señalan ofrendas rituales y marcadores de piedra tallados que sugieren una red extensa de peregrinación, y los estudios aéreos siguen revelando avenidas enterradas más allá de las ruinas visibles.
Destacados: Un oráculo llamado Pacha Kamaq atrajo peregrinos por más de 1,000 años, con el cronista español Pedro Cieza de León describiendo largas procesiones y montones de pequeñas figurillas votivas dejadas en las bases de las enormes pirámides de adobe. Caminando entre muros de adobe calentados por el sol todavía puedes ver restos de pintura ocre y cientos de pequeñas ofrendas de conchas y cerámica bajo los pies, el aire salado y el crujido del polvo de cerámica hacen que el pasado ritual se sienta extrañamente inmediato.
