The best time is June to September when the trail is free of snow. The morning before 10 am is ideal, because then the light is best and there are the fewest people.

Consejos para el presupuesto

To enter Tatra National Park, a ticket for an adult costs about 8 zloty, but from October to April entry is free. The most affordable option is to buy a parking ticket at the Morskie Oko parking lot early, because later it fills up quickly.

  • Gloves and a windbreaker are essential even in summer, because at 1583 meters above sea level a strong cold wind often blows by the lake.
  • The best photo luck happens from the shore between 2 and 4 pm, when the sun shines directly on the summit of Rysy.
  • Bring your own food and water, because there are no kiosks by the lake, the only rest stop is the Morskie Oko tourist shelter further below.
  • If you want to avoid the crowds, take the trail counterclockwise from Morskie Oko lake, because most visitors turn back before reaching Czarny Staw.
