Datos rápidos: Los muros de este monasterio aun conservan 900 fragmentos de pinturas murales originales del siglo XIX, incluyendo una tecnica de fresco poco comun que combina oleo y tempera. Sus dos campanas principales pesan 520 kg y 1.200 kg respectivamente, y aun se tocan cada manana a las 06.00.
Destacados: Detras del altar principal se esconde una pequena capilla subterranea a la que solo se accede por una puerta secreta detras del iconostasio. Las paredes de la capilla estan recubiertas con miles de fragmentos de mosaico hechos a mano por los monjes sobrevivientes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial; no hay dos mosaicos iguales.
