Datos rápidos: El museo se ubica justo encima de uno de los desfiladeros fluviales más imponentes de Europa, donde el Danubio se estrecha drásticamente y se precipita a través de los montes Cárpatos. Su sección al aire libre exhibe segmentos genuinos de calzadas romanas talladas en los acantilados por los ingenieros del emperador Trajano hace casi 2.000 años.

Destacados: Una enorme tabula rasa romana, una inscripción en piedra tallada a 50 metros de altura en los acantilados sobre el Danubio, proclama el triunfo militar de Trajano a los barcos que pasan. Puedes pararte sobre el mismo lecho de piedra de la calzada que usaron los legionarios romanos durante las guerras dacias, con profundos surcos aún desgastados en la roca por las ruedas de sus carros.

The viewing terrace above the parking lot offers the best photo angle of the gorge and the inscribed cliff face together.
Check if the hydropower plant visitor center is open on the same ticket, it lets you see the Danube from inside the dam.
