Datos rápidos: De los 8 kilómetros de pasadizos de la Cueva de la Libertad de Demänovská, 2,1 kilómetros son visitables, y su entrada se abre desde una grieta de 60 metros de profundidad. Fue descubierta en 1921 y desde entonces es una de las cuevas de estalactitas más visitadas de Eslovaquia, con más de 200 000 turistas al año.
Destacados: Una de las salas más impresionantes de la cueva es la Catedral, de 45 metros de altura, donde las esbeltas columnas de estalactitas que cuelgan del techo brillan bajo la luz de los reflectores como si estuvieran talladas en piedras preciosas. El reflejo de los lagos de aguas cristalinas y la temperatura constante de 16 °C crean un microclima tan especial que no encontrarás en ningún otro lugar.

- Put on a thick sweater even in summer, as the cave is a constant 6-7 degrees throughout.
- Photography is permitted even without a tripod, but flash does not bring out many formations nicely, so try to take advantage of the natural colored lighting.
- The last daily tour is usually less crowded than the morning time slots.
- The parking lot in front of the cave is free, but in the tourist season it is worth arriving early for the spaces.
