Datos rápidos: Cave number 2 alone contains over 16,000 square feet of painted Buddha imagery, enough murals to cover nearly four basketball courts. The complex's five caves shelter 153 Buddha statues plus statues of kings and gods, all carved from solid granite cliff face.
Destacados: One cave features a 14-meter reclining Buddha carved from living rock, with a hidden pillow cavity where monks once stashed precious manuscripts. Another holds a Buddha carved to look like he's breathing, with subtle chest shaping that creates an optical illusion when lantern light flickers across the stone.
